What Fruita Really Wants
According to the 2007 Citizen Survey done by the city of Fruita there are several things that our community really wants:
- By far what the people of Fruita really want is a new grocery store.
- Second they really want additional shopping and specialty retail stores.
- Third the people of Fruita want new restaurants.
- Or citizens want managed growth, preservation of our small town feeling and open space.
How do we get it
- Grocery stores, retail stores and restaurants are much less likely to locate in high tax areas.
- We can attract business by offering lower taxes and tax incentives.
- By increasing taxes in our community we encourage shopping in cities other than Fruita further depressing our economy.
- With large employers moving away from Fruita, consumer spending dropping, a housing crisis, and possible recession looming on the horizon can we cannot afford higher taxes and inflated government spending.
Fruita is at a crossroads. Your vote on Issue A will change the future of Fruita.
